Events are a dream for videographers.
It’s a great chance to capture live content and create a sense of ‘life’ and showcase the work that’s gone into the event.
So, when the guys at Nexus Industrial Memory asked me to pop along and film some content while they were at the Engineering Design Show in Coventry, I was there in a flash.
But while events are a great opportunity to capture content, there are some technical challenges to overcome.
The first of those, you can probably guess… is audio.
Any show, event or exhibition is bound to be loud, which makes capturing good quality audio a challenge.
So, I met Michael, Managing Director at Nexus, bright and early before the show opened to give us time to film content.
Before the doors had even opened, we’d boxed off a new homepage video and some talking head video content shots.
That’s a format that worked well because it meant I was free to focus on gathering b-roll and capture them showcasing the product to customers throughout the day, rather than ducking and diving between content shoots.
I put together a quick highlight video to go out that week, which you can watch below:
The best bit is that the footage captured on the day can be used in countless other videos – once you’ve got it, it’s a cinch to edit together even more great content.
If you’ve got an event, exhibition or show coming up that you’d love to capture video content at, just hit reply and let’s have a chat…
Speak soon,
Ben
