We’ve done video before, but…

A conversation I often have with people when we’re planning out video work is their previous experience with video.
It can go a few different ways, but one phrase I often hear is, “We’ve done video before, but it didn’t quite have the results we expected.”
And I wanted to talk a little bit about that…
Video is a great marketing tool – whether it’s a testimonial video, a sales video, a ‘meet the team’ video, an event video or regular content.
But as with any marketing, it needs to be wrapped around a wider plan.
One of the first questions I ask when I’m speaking with clients is what do you want to achieve with this video?
Is it brand awareness? Conversion? Nurturing?
In some cases, just having a video of any sort can elevate you above your competition if they’re not doing video.
As a baseline, that’s fine, but if you’re going to commit to producing video content, you want to make sure you’re getting the metaphorical (and literal) bang for your buck.
It’s why I’m always keen to discuss video ideas collaboratively – that means content, strategy, and the wider plan.
If you’re reading this and you’re on the fence about video or perhaps you’ve created video content before, but it’s not quite had the results you wanted, it might be worth us having a chat about how we can work together.
A video is more than just a video and I’d love to help you take your content to the next level.
