Content is king, but…

The saying goes that content is King, but marketing is Queen, and she wears the trousers.

Now, aside from that being a great quip, there is a lot of truth behind it.

Content is and always will be king – creating great, regular content is a habit that is always worth doing.

But what happens after it is just as important – if you’re creating great content but nobody is seeing it, you’re not doing yourself justice.

I was recently filming for a client who had a stand at the Spring Fair at the NEC and took the chance to chat with a few people while I was there.

And I was surprised at how many hadn’t considered video as part of their marketing – let me explain why…

Filming at showcases, exhibitions and events is one of my favourite things to do because it ticks so many boxes.

It gives you evergreen content that you can use across your website, social channels and even in email content.

All while showcasing what you do and showing that other people are interested in what you do, which instantly elevates the video.

Capturing footage at events adds a level of legitimacy that’s hard to recreate…

Add in the fact that if it’s an industry-specific event, you’ll likely have clients and customers there, and you’ve got the perfect conditions for a really effective testimonial video.

We’re in events season now and you might well have an exhibition coming up where you haven’t considered filming content around it – or you just haven’t got round to it.

But it’s a great chance to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Because while you’re busy generating leads, speaking to potential customers and doing your thing, I can capture footage that will pay dividends over the coming weeks and months in your marketing.

Speak soon,

Ben (The Video Guy)
